Thanks.Įveryone raves about mods like it's compulsory to play this game modded. TL,DR: if Morrowind HAS to be played modded to enjoy it in 2020, please suggest the most complete, safe AND easy to setup mod. I just want to casually play some 2020 Morrowind.
If MGSO is really not advisable, are there comparable prepacked mods to be installed comfortably and which ones would you suggest in case? Again, I'm not interested in minute details, and even if side quest #105859 gets broken I don't really care. I also heard it has some bugs, but which kind of bugs? Like severe "I can't even play the game / progress through the game the proper way" kind of bugs or marginal "the magical table spoon of Guthlabrob appears missing from original collectables" kind of bugs?

Some questions: I heard that it's "outdated", but what does it even mean for a mod to be outdated? It's a mod. A lot of gaming YTers are using it as well so I can't understand all of the backlash. So it a feasible mod, yes or no, and why? I'm confused. Everyone recommends Morrowind Overhaul 3.0 (MGSO), and everyone also hates it. Speaking of "all-inclusive" installer-enabled mods. Remember it's a once in a blue moon gaming thing and I don't want to waste more time setting up the game than playing it.
That means I'd happiliy go through a single pre-packed mod installer that runs like a breeze, or nada and I'll play vanilla. But I'd be glad to enjoy the game at its best potential, especially graphically, as much as it can be enjoyed to this day. I'm not into the "nerd" mentality anymore, so I really don't want to waste hours carefully and tediously setting up and troubleshooting through a couple thousand single mod files. Is the vanilla version objectively so bad to play as of today, and in case why? Objectively, like performance wise: does it have any significant bugs on modern OSs that need fixing? Or are people just whining about the age old graphics and that's about it in the big picture?Ģ) Speaking of mods.

The TES saga instantly came to mind, and I thought I might as well revisit Morrowind since everyone says it's the most wholesome TES and I think I never got to check it out properly. I was thinking about a nostalgia trip project: installing a really longevous videogame, and then maybe keep playing it every once in a blue moon after this whole situation comes to an end.
